Concarneau – 80 pax

À propos de Sailcoop

Presentation of the ship

An optimized and eco-friendly catamaran

Designed by the naval architecture firm VPLP and built at the Arsenal shipyard, this 18.60-meter catamaran was christened Samantha, in honor of its godmother, British sailor Samantha Davis.

The vessel is dedicated to transporting passengers between Concarneau and the Glénan Archipelago, offering a more environmentally friendly travel option. Thanks to its primary sail propulsion, supplemented by two 79-horsepower engines, it significantly reduces its energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.

Designed with passenger comfort in mind, the vessel features extended roof sides and vertical awnings that extend beyond the seats, providing more sheltered seating in case of inclement weather. It can accommodate up to 80 passengers and is accessible to people with reduced mobility thanks to adapted facilities.

Finally, certain equipment has been simplified, with the switch from electric winches to manual winches, contributing to more efficient operation.

Focus on Ethics

A ship that embodies a wide range of environmental and social considerations

  • Wind propulsion.
  • 8m2 solar panels.
  • Made entirely from recycled PET foam.
  • Excellent insulation thanks to a thick composite sandwich of up to 60mm.
  • Deck layout to allow access for people with reduced mobility, with a PRM WC on the deck and access ramps.
  • Streamlined hull design for improved hydrodynamic performance.
  • Vertical awnings that drop down behind the seats, providing more sheltered seating
