Modernizing maritime transport
The NSO 1 and NSO 2 electric port shuttles were ordered by the Les Sables d’Olonne urban community to modernize its maritime transport fleet and meet the growing demand for sustainable transport solutions, particularly in urban and coastal tourist areas.
These vessels, measuring 11.90 meters in length and with a capacity of 50 passengers (including 2 PRM), are described as “hydrogen ready,” designed to be powered by electricity and ready to integrate a hybrid electro-hydrogen engine in the future. They contribute to the decarbonization of transport by offering a clean, quiet, and efficient alternative.
Operating daily at the port of Les Sables d’Olonne and during major events such as the Village du Vendée Globe 2024, these shuttles connect three stops in the port, allowing for greater passenger capacity. They replace smaller vessels, thereby strengthening maritime service and meeting the needs of a growing number of users.
Focus on ethics
Shuttles that embody a wide range of ecological and social considerations :
- Eco-responsible commitment with a reduction in the ecological footprint of maritime mobility
- Design compliant with environmental standards
- Use of recycled PET foam in manufacturing
- Local manufacturing in France with nearby partners
- 2 spaces for people with reduced mobility
- Low-carbon electric propulsion, with the possibility of future integration of green hydrogen
- Collaboration between NepTech, Chantier de l’Arsenal, and Alternatives Energies for sustainable innovation
- Support for environmentally friendly maritime transport solutions in France
